Spring 1912: James Lawrence Hoffstead has left home for New York to pursue a career as a concert pianist. After three years in conservatory, there's no doubt that he's a brilliant performer - but something's not quite right. His teacher decides it's time to derail James off his carefully planned trajectory… throwing him directly into the path of virtuoso cellist Francesca Pleeth.

Francesca is an unapologetic force of nature – exactly what's required as a female cellist in the early 20th century. She's determined to begin her solo career abroad and make her mark on the most revered concert halls and audiences in the genre.

It's unfortunate, then, to meet her perfect pianist just two weeks before she leaves New York.

The timing is wrong. Their chemistry, however, is undeniable. And if James can find his courage, and Francesca can find room in her heart for more than her career… they could truly become something exceptional together.
